Robert "Bob" Shovers FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ Robert "Bob" M. Shovers, 47, died at Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa, AZ on Oct. 10, 2012. Robert was born on Nov. 9, 1964 to Henry and Virginia (Christiansen) Shovers in Racine, Wis. On Oct. 14, 2001 Robert was united in marriage to his soul mate, Debra (Cutts) Toeppe-Shovers in Las Vegas, NV. Bob was a 1982 graduate of Racine Lutheran High and a 1988 graduate of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, double majoring in Communications and Sociology. While attending college full time he obtained his Senior Residential Appraisal license, Real Estate Broker's license and multiple accredited insurance licenses. His hard working competitive nature carried Robert far in his life. At twelve he started his own lawn care business. He grew Shovers Lawn Care and sold it in college. It still exists today. During college he began working with his dad and eventually took over Henry B. Shovers Co., changing the name to Robert Shovers Diversified Real Estate Services and growing it into one of the largest real estate appraisal companies in S. E. Wisconsin. He was a past member of the Racine Board of Realtors, Society of Real Estate Appraisers, Employee Relocation Council, National Association of Realtors, Wisconsin Realtors Association and The Appraisal Institute. Anyone who knew him knew what he enjoyed most - gourmet cooking for those he loved. Together, Robert and Debra's kitchen became known as "The Best Restaurant in Racine". He was an extremely generous man and dearly loved his family and spending time together. They enjoyed many trips together, traveling all over the US and the Caribbean. His other passion was the water. Swimming, boating, and scuba diving, always looking at Lake Michigan to see if it was a good boating day. He swam competitively from the age of 4 through high school, becoming one of the area's best. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra; his son Benjamin Robert(mother-Bonnie Rozanas), step children, Michael and Megan Toeppe all of Racine, WI. Sisters, Marcia(Leon) Swan of Bayside, WI; Lisa(Todd) Ireland of Pittsburgh, PA. and niece and nephews, Alyssa, Brennan and Aidan. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his father-in law Charles R. Cutts. Memorial service to be held Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at Christ Church- United Methodist, 5109 Washington Ave., Racine, WI. Visitation with the family from 1:00-2:30 with the service following at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Benjamin House @ 4848 Cty Tk H, Franksville, WI would be appreciated.
