It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Singeltary, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend. Robert entered this world on April 24, 1961, in Lumberton, North Carolina, and departed from us on July 23, 2023. He touched countless lives and will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering dedication, and infectious enthusiasm.
Robert was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Shirley , with whom he shared a union of 20 beautiful years. Their bond was a true testament to the power of love, resilience, and commitment. As parents, Robert and Shirley raised three incredible children, Matthew White, Amanda Cox, and Emily Singletary, who were the manifestation of their love and the source of their pride and joy.
During his 62 years on this earth, Robert filled every room he entered with his vibrant spirit and genuine warmth. He knew how to light up a conversation, effortlessly putting those around him at ease with his charming wit and charisma. Robert had a knack for turning strangers into friends and making the people he cared about feel cherished and valued.
One of Robert's greatest passions was his career in education. He dedicated over three decades of his life to shaping young minds as a beloved teacher at Lumberton High School. His commitment to his students was unmatched, and he invested his time and energy into providing them with the tools they needed to thrive academically and personally. Robert's impact extended far beyond the classroom, as he served as a mentor and advocate for his students, helping them navigate life's challenges with grace and resilience.
When Robert wasn't dedicating himself to his family, students, and colleagues, he could often be found exploring the great outdoors. Nature was his sanctuary, and he found solace in the beauty of the world around him. He had a deep appreciation for hiking, fishing, and camping, and he took every opportunity to reconnect with nature and recharge his spirit. Robert's adventurous spirit was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Robert Singeltary leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. His absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched. Though we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the incredible impact he had on the world and the memories that will forever be etched in our hearts.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
