Bob went to be with Jesus on May 17, 2017 in Phoenix after a courageous battle with COPD and lung cancer. He retired as a painting and coatings journeyman. He took great pride and joy in making sure his customers received high quality product and service.Bob lived out the "greatest commandments" by both loving God (and studying his Bible!), and also loving his neighbors in very practical, simple ways. He is survived by his wife, Connie Hampton; his son, James (Shannon) Painter; Connie's children John, Charlie, Rosalinda and Angie; grandchildren Ciara and Nathan; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his sister Katherine "Kitty" (Ben) Jennings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Helen Painter, and his son Timothy Painter. The family wishes to give special thanks to Sherry Weiss of Banner Hospice, and to Jodi Abruzzese, Dr. Frank Cordova, and Tom Marbos of Hospice of The Valley for their special care of Bob.
