Robert W. "Bob" CallahanMr. Robert Wayne "Bob" Callahan, age 65, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, after a short illness. He was born on August 16, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri. Bob was the middle child of James and Hazel Callahan, with an older brother, James, and a younger sister, Kathy.He graduated from Republic High School, in Republic, Missouri. Bob served in the U.S. Navy before beginning his lifetime career with the Federal Prison System, serving in several different states. He was a member of the Solomon Lodge #271, in Springfield.Bob was a very giving and loving man, willing to help anyone. His final act was to donate his organs.He was preceded in death by his first and special love, first wife, Kathy; and his parents.Bob is survived by wife, Dorothy, of the home; a sister, Kathy (Mark) Carl, Edmond, Okla.; brother, Jim (Beth) Callahan, Dallas, Texas; nieces, Jamie (Shawn) Colton, Edmond, Okla., and Erin Callahan, Houston, Texas; brothers and sisters in law, Marx and Karen Claussen, Linda Ward, Barbara Brecheisen, Ron Johns, Jim and Dorothy Johns, Tom and Donna Johns, Darrel and Becky Johns, and Sandy Cox; numerous other nieces and nephews; a special friend since childhood, Dan O'Neal; and many more friends.A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., with Masonic Rites at 7:00 p.m., on Friday, November 17, 2017 in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017, also in the funeral home. The graveside service, with military honors, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017 in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, Springfield.
