Wagner, Robert W. "Rob" passed away unexpectedly on November 5, 2016. Rob was born on March 23, 1966 in Kankakee, Illinois. His parents are Ellan and Bob Wagner. Rob spent his early years as a "military brat" traveling and living around the world in such places as Germany, El Paso, Texas, Livermore, California, Fort Worth, Texas and finally Sierra Vista, Arizona. He was a graduate of Buena High School in Sierra Vista where he played football and basketball then went to Arizona State University where he earned degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Rob made the decision to give up the mobile life style and settle in Phoenix. He worked as Software Engineer for many years with Lockheed Martin in Goodyear, Boeing in Mesa and most recently with Knox Box in the Deer Valley area. He had a temporary job which took him to Seattle for almost a year which he enjoyed greatly. Rob was a gregarious individual who could "talk your ears off", a fanatic sports fan, having season tickets with the Diamondback and Rattlers for many, many years and was totally dedicated to his parent and close friends. He was also a lover of cats and dogs and spent much of his time finding feral cats and looking out for them even though he had allergies and could not bring them into his home. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him well. In lieu of flowers, gifts to animal shelters would be what Rob would have preferred. He will be interred at Mariposa Gardens in Mesa. No public services are planned. If anyone wishes to obtain more information, please contact his parents at [email protected].
