Robert Wayne Smithson, 68, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, passed unexpectedly on July 10, 2021 at his home. Robert was born on June 05, 1953 in Moyock, N.C. to Philip Jr. and Rosemary (Fisher) Smithson. After graduating from Middleton H.S. in 1971, he went on to serving in the Air Force. Soon after his time served, Bob worked in Real Estate. In the mid 1980's he moved to Florida where he worked in marketing and sales in the hospitatlity industry. Looking forward to his retirement in 2020, Bob bought a home in Wisconsins Rapids. After extensive renovation was completed, he moved back from Florida. Bob's greatest joy and number one priority was his boy, Jonathan. In June 2021 they both had an opportunity to spend an entire week alone together. The quality time they shared then was truly Bob's last days of pure joy. Bob was a very kind and gentle soul, a man of simplicity. No matter how he was treated, he always saw the good in others. His dream in retirement would have been to surround himself in the serenity of nature, to sit by calm water where he could drop a line and just be fishing.
