Robert William Maness died peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016. Service: Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Andrew Catholic Church. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Memorials: Parkinson's Support Group of Tarrant County, P.O. Box 939, Hurst, 76053. Bob was born on April 4, 1934, in New Orleans, La., to Robert Sr. and Ida Little Maness. He earned a BBA from the University of Southern Mississippi. Bob worked on the Apollo Project at Cape Canaveral and the F-111 project at General Dynamics before opening Berry Tree, a commercial landscaping business. He later retired to become the business manager of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Bob loved hunting, fishing, and bowling. In 1959 he won the State of Louisiana Bowling Championship. He was always known as a gentle man with a heart of gold, a wonderful sense of humor and deep faith. This is the legacy passed on to his children, grandchildren, and great-grands. Survivors: He is survived by "the woman he was crazy about" for 57 years, Malise; their children, Mark Maness and wife, Carol, Mimi Maness, Matt Maness and wife, Rhonda, Mary Salerno and husband, George, and Michael Maness and wife, Tina; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, James Maness and wife, Phyllis; nephews; and nieces.
