Robert William "Bob" Richmond Sr 66, passed away on Friday March 2, 2012 in Yuma, AZ. He was born on March 3, 1946 in Fulton, Kentucky. Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corp and retired after 10 years of service. He fought in the
Vietnam War with the First Marine Division, First Battalion, Charlie Company. He was wounded three times and received a
Purple Heart with on e Gold Star, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with a Silver Star amongst many others. He was also wounded during the 4th day of the Battle of Hue. He was on the Battle of Madina, which was mentioned in the book "Lions of Medina" by Doyle Glass. Bob is survived by his wife Hortencia Richmond of Yuma, AZ; daughter Zoé Richmond of Gilbert, AZ; son, Robert Richmond Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Kenneth Richmond of Dahlonga, GA; sister, Sharon Humes of Hampton, VA; and his twin brother Ronald Richmond of Riverside, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Ruby Richmond and brother, James Richmond. Visitation services will be held at Funeraria del Angel on Friday, March 9, 2012 between 5 p.m. an 8 p.m. Rosary will be held at Funeraria del Angel on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 7 p.m. Mass will place on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 9 a.m. There will be a reception following Mass at the D.A.V. Bob's final resting place will be at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Disabled American Veteran's Chapter 11 at 954 S 13th Ave in Yuma AZ 85364.
