Roberta "Bobbie" CookRoberta Hazel "Bobbie" Cook, 83, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 of natural causes. Bobbie was born on June 19, 1934 in Missoula, Montana to Ernest and Hazel (Helvey) Atkinson. She had one sibling, her sister, Lee (Atkinson) Davidson, who predeceased her. She graduated from the University of Montana with a B.A. in Foods and Nutrition in 1956, and pledged the Delta Gamma Sorority at the University of Montana. She participated in a Dietetic Internship at St. Luke's Hospital, in New York City, in 1957. Bobbie continued her education at Michigan State University with an M.S. in Institutional Management in 1959. In 1959, Bobbie married Donald Crews. They had three children together: James, Thomas and Gail. They later divorced. Years later, while attending a seminar, Bobbie met William Cook. They quickly fell in love and spent 29 wonderful years together until Bill's passing in 2010.Bobbie loved her childhood in Montana and spent time at Flathead Lake during the summers, both having fun with friends, and working. During the summer of 1956, She was the Food Manager for the University of Montana Biological Station at Flathead Lake. After graduating from Michigan State, she moved to Syracuse with her first husband Don and was employed at the Upstate Medical Center as the Chief Research Dietician. They moved to Fort Collins in 1963 to raise their family, and she was employed at Colorado State University as a part-time instructor in Food Science and Nutrition. Supporting Colorado State University remained important throughout her lifetime.Moving forward, Bobbie earned her real estate license and was proud to have enjoyed an exciting career of over 20 years with The Group, Inc. "Real Estate is my chosen career and my customers are important to me; I love 'making the match' of a wonderful customer and a beautiful home! I am ready to go 'the extra mile' for my customers." She coordinated the first custom Parade of Homes in Fort Collins and became a mentor for women in real estate and business throughout Northern Colorado. Bobbie volunteered her time on various boards: The Fort Collins Symphony Board of Directors, the Fort Collins Country Club Board of Directors, and Opera Fort Collins. She joined P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) when she moved to Fort Collins in 1963 and continued to support the Fort Collins community for many years after she retired. Bobbie is survived by son James (Jan) Crews of Scottsdale Arizona and grandchildren Ashley (Luke) Jonas and first great-grandchild Cora of Gilbert, Arizona, and Kiley Crews of Denver; son Thomas (Brenda) Crews and grandchildren Tommy and McKenna Crews of Loveland; Gail (Michael) Berkery and grandchildren Abigail and Ethan Berkery of Golden; stepson Kem (Susan) Cook of San Ramon, California, and grandchild Keegan Finberg and husband Andy Hines of Evansville, Indiana.Bobbie was constantly learning, improving herself, and open to new ideas and concepts. She was an extremely supportive and loving wife, mother and friend. She touched people from all walks of life with her honest and generous spirit. She still participated in Great Conversations at Colorado State University, a book club, and had a monthly group of women who met at her home, 'Women Who Laugh'.Please join family and friends in a celebration of Bobbie's life on Sunday, October 22nd at the Fort Collins Country Club from 11:30-2:00.
