Roberta N. HymeLANCASTER: Roberta N. Hyme, 76, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Carriage Court. She was born on June 24, 1938 to the late Bruno and Edna (Potts) Thomae. Roberta was a member of St. Mark Church. She also returned to her church of youth, Mt. Carmel United Church of Christ in Clearport. Roberta was an avid musician. She played the organ at both churches and played at several weddings. Roberta was a graduate of Stoutsville High School and Capital University. She retired after 35 years of teaching from Amanda Clearcreek and Rushville High School. Roberta is survived by son, Thomas (Amy) Hyme; daughter, Nancy (Donald) Brewer; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeremiah) Walker, Thomas "T.R." Hyme III (Cheroke Finnefrock), Ashley and Hannah Hyme, Owen and Ethan Brewer; great granddaughter, Kaylee Walker. In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hyme; brothers, Leroy, Harold, and Chester. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 3 at 10:30 AM at SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Dr. Marilin Miller and Fr. Nimocks officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 2 from 2-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Amanda Clearcreek Alumni Scholarship Fund, Samaritan Center Adult Day Services, or to St. Mark Food Pantry.
