Roberto Franco, 87 passed away peacefully on June 5, 2017 in McKinney, TX. He was born on September 4, 1929, in El Paso, Texas to Jose and Anita Franco. He was a life-long resident of El Paso. Roberto was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served with distinction as a soldier during the Korean Conflict. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the U. S. Army never left him, as friends and family will attest. Roberto worked as an iron worker foreman for Southwestern Industrial Contractors & Riggers until he retired. He was a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Church as he served as an usher for many years. He was an active member of the Democratic Political Party and was greatly loved and respected by all his family and friends. Roberto also shared a passion of hunting with his brothers Carlos and Alfonso. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Magdalena Conde Franco and survived by his sister, Mary Samaniego, children Robert Franco Jr. Jose Franco, Jim Franco, Barbara Franco Aguirre, Alex Franco, Rudy Franco, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dora Moreno, Ruben and Lucy Salcido, Margie and Henry Castro. Gathering of Remembrance: 5- 9pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass: 10:00am Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Committal Service: Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
