Rodger C. Wells1941 - 2015 Rodger C. Wells, 73, of Union Grove formerly of Kenosha passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at his home. Rodger was born on Oct. 22, 1941, in Kenosha to Lester J. and Lucille (Wyman) Wells. He graduated from Racine Lutheran High School in 1960, attended Carthage College and graduated from Gateway Technical College in 1972. Rodger married Dawn Pfeiffer at Grace Lutheran Church on June 6, 1964. He worked for 42 years at Piggly Wiggly as a Produce Manager and Assistant Store Manager. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1967. He was a member of the American Legion Post #21 in Kenosha. Rodger is a member of the Union Grove Lodge #288, a 50 year member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons and he was a Past Master of Lodge #47 in Kenosha. He was a member of the International Supreme Council Order of the DeMolay, was awarded the Legion of Honor, as well as the highest award of Chevalier and received the Past Masters Councilors Award. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and Tripoli Temple in Milwaukee, Shriners International and he was a local Ambassador of the Tripoli Kenosha Shrine Club where he drove children and their families to the Shriners Hospital in Chicago. Rodger "Pathfinder" was a Scout Leader for 32 years for Troop #455 with Grace Lutheran Church. He received the Order of the Arrow Vigil, the Silver Beaver Award which is the highest award given to a leader, he enjoyed High Adventure Scouting trips and he raised eight Eagle Scouts including his son. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, was on the church council for five years and served as president for two years. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Richard C. Wells; and a brother, Lester W. Wells.Rodger is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Dawn of Union Grove; two children, Jim (Debra) Wells of Salem and Julia Wells of Brookfield; two grandchildren, Ashley and Alexandra Wells; his sister, Carla (Duane) Smith of Racine; his sister-in-law, Diana Wells of Palmyra, Pa., as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Funeral services for Rodger will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with Military Honors. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. with a Masonic Service to be held at 4:30 p.m. Their will also be a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
