It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodney Thomas Sr., a beloved member of the Baltimore City community. Rodney was born on February 8, 1954, and peacefully departed from this world on May 6, 2024.

Rodney lived a fulfilling life in Baltimore City, Maryland, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual who worked tirelessly for the New York police force, eventually retiring in 2009. Prior to his time in law enforcement, Rodney also served his country in the Air Force as a Sergeant.

Outside of his professional life, Rodney had a love for reading and could often be found immersed in a good book. He passed on this passion for learning to his son, Rodney Thomas Jr., who followed in his footsteps and made him proud.

Rodney also leaves behind a loving partner, Lisa Thomas, and their children and grandchildren, who meant the world to him. His memory will live on through the stories and lessons he shared with them.

Today, we honor Rodney Thomas Sr. for his dedication to service, his unwavering commitment to his family, and his love for learning. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
