WATERLOO — Rodney Blake Combs Sr., age 68, of Waterloo passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at his Waterloo home. Rodney was born on November 2, 1947, in Garrett, Kentucky, to Dolph and Minnie (Smith) Combs. He married Christine F. Johnston on November 22, 1982, in Fremont, Indiana. Rodney worked for the Budd Company in Kendallville for 6 years. He also worked for Armes Security as a security guard at Wells Fargo bank for 11 1/2 years and he worked as a handyman for Concord Community Park for 13 years. He was a member of the One Truth Christian Outreach in Ashley. Survivors include his wife; Christine Combs of Waterloo; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Rodney B. Combs Jr. and his wife, Nicole, of Centerville, Michigan, Robert Combs of Jackson, Michigan, and Eric and Mandy Limpert of Hillsdale, Michigan; six daughters and two sons-in-law, Andrea Johnston of Michigan, Zeda Stahl and her companion Joe Heiple of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Cathy Jo and Ray Ashley of Waterloo, Valisa Laderach of Waterloo, Tanya and Tim Gardner of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Nancy Davenport of Knottsville, Tennessee; 30 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Helen Combs of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Billy and Sheryl Combs of Burr Oak, Michigan; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and James McDonald of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nancy Combs; a granddaughter, Alpcha Lynn Combs; and a nephew, Greg McDonald. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St. in Waterloo. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016, from 2-6 p.m. at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Waterloo. Officiating will be Pastor Barb Keene. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery in Corunna. Memorials may be directed to Feller and Clark Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
