Rodney E. Gauvin, 70, a resident of Cebollita Springs passed away on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013.He was born on Aug. 1, 1942 in Caribou, Maine, to Romey John Gauvin and Anna Marie Blanchette Gauvin.He served in the U.S. Navy from June 1961 to June 1965 serving in Vietnam and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of La Verne in Laverne, Calif. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Ouellette Gauvin on Nov. 28, 1964 in Chicopee Falls, Mass. He retired in 1995 after 10 years of employment with Northrop-Grumman. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. He enjoyed archery, woodworking, photography and also coached soccer when his boys were young and also enjoyed being a dad. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Gauvin of the family home in Cebollita Springs; sons, Keith Gauvin and wife Jeannette of Dundee, Oregon, Jeffery Gauvin and wife Christine of Shrewsbury, Mass.; grandchildren, Justin Gauvin, Jessica Gauvin, Joshua Gauvin and Rebecca Gauvin; brother, Raymond Gauvin and wife Connie of Windham, Maine; sister, Doris Thibodeau and husband Will of East Hartford, Conn.; sisters-in-law, Pamela Rhodes and husband Harry of Cebollita Springs, Paula Winters and husband Michael of Choctaw, Okla. and Roberta Walton of Caribou, Maine; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.Special thanks to the staff of Amber Care: Donna Garcia, Julie Martinez, Ella Martinez and Pastor Daniel Enriquez. Rosary services were held on Monday at Rogers Chapel in Las Vegas. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. The following served as casketbearers: Mathew Lavine, Travis Lavine, Mike Winders, Harry Rhodes, Keith Gauvin and Jeff Gauvin. Cremation was to follow and burial of cremains will be at a later date at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Caribou, Maine. In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to National Parkinson Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O.
