Obituary for Rodney Seay

Rodney Seay, beloved father, grandfather, and "Master of the Concrete Jungle," passed away on October 11, 2023, at the age of 72, due to a heart attack. Known for his larger-than-life personality and his construction skills that could make any building shake in fear, Rodney will be sorely missed by all who had the distinct pleasure of knowing him.
Rodney was born on February 3, 1951, to parents Ruth and Clarence Seay. Right from his toddler years, it was clear that Rodney was destined for greatness. While other children were playing with toys, Rodney was busy constructing miniature skyscrapers out of blocks, much to the dismay of his siblings.
As he grew older, Rodney's passion for construction only intensified. He turned his childhood dreams into a reality by joining the Construction Workers, where he quickly became a legend. With his trusty hard hat and perfectly wielded hammer, Rodney could build, demolish, and rebuild anything in record time, often leaving his colleagues in awe and confusion, wondering if he had some secret superpower.
Rodney's influence and expertise were unmatched. If you needed a wall erected, he was your guy. If you wanted to tear down that wall the next day, he was the one you called. His craftsmanship knew no bounds, and his sense of humor was equally impressive.
Despite the demands of his profession, Rodney always found time to be a loving father. He leaves behind three children: Lisa Seay, Jamiela Banks, and Jaquayla Banks. He enjoyed imparting his construction wisdom to them, often leading to unique home improvement projects with questionable structural integrity. Nonetheless, his children have inherited his indomitable spirit and the gift of "making it work."
In addition to his children, Rodney leaves behind seven grandchildren who were the light of his life. Although we won't mention their names to protect them from future construction-related mischief, we know Rodney's legacy will live on through them.
Friends and family have countless stories to share about Rodney's escapades, from the time he mistook a streetlamp for a flagpole or accidentally built a staircase that led to nowhere. He had a knack for making even the most ordinary tasks extraordinary and hilarious. Rodney's laughter was infectious, and his larger-than-life personality will forever remain etched in our memories.
As we say our final goodbyes to Rodney Seay, let us remember him as he would want us to: full of laughter and with an unwavering determination to build a better world, one punchline at a time. Rest in peace, Rodney, knowing that your legacy will continue to inspire and bring smiles to the faces of those who knew you.
