Rodney Midgett, 70, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed on December 11, 2020. Rodney was born on September 01, 1950. To Cora Lee Taylor and Emmanuel Midgett. To that union was born 4 additional brothers, and 2 sisters. Rodney leaves behind a wife of 12 years.1 living brother,Rico Midgett and 1 living sister Denise. 3 daughters, Benita Tait, Ronette Ramseur, Aerial Midgett. 1 stepdaughter Jasmine Blue.And 3 step sons Darnell, Tyler and Daniel. 2 sons, Rodrick Midgett and Rashad Midgett. And 1 God son Nate. 3 grandsons. 3 granddaughters .2 great grandsons, 1 great granddaughter. And a host of niece's and nephews and cousins. Rodney found Christ and rededicated and fully submitted his life to him in 2010. Thru baptism and catechism classes at our home church. Westside Christian Bible Church. Day by day he pursued a closer walk with God. Rodney joined the Armed forces/ Military. In 1975, and became a active and honorable soldier. As stated on his honorable discharge paper. Later on, Rodney went on to earn his Bachelor Degree in Social Work. From Marygrove College and was gainfully employed in his field of expertise as a Social Worker for many rewarding years. After retiring from Social Work, Rodney did not slow down. Retiring from one job gave him a different type of drive to stay active and relevant to his calling. In 2015, Rodney became a volunteer with Catholic Services for Hospice of Michigan. He was acknowledged from Hospice with pendants and certifications for his outstanding performances. Of CARE &COMPASSION. From there, Rodney became a truck driver for Salvation Army. Most current job a hilo driver at Thyssegen up till his death. Rodney Mr. Slow and Easy as referred to by many who knew him. Every where he went va for routine appt, stores, restuarants, church, etc when asked how u been? Expect to have been told SLOW n EASY. Literally, he lived this.Rodney you will be Remembered for your Determination,Strength,Charisma,Mostly his walk with God.
