RUSSIAVILLE - Age 88, passed away at 11:30 pm on Monday, May 18, 2015 at his home. He was born on August 11, 1926 in Saspamco , TX to Fredrico and Jesusa (Rivas) Montoya. On July 14, 1946 Roger married Eloise M. Martinez and she passed away on June 20, 2004. Roger worked for Western Publishing company in Racine, WI for 35 years as a lithographer and head pressman. Roger was a member of the First Baptist Church in Russiaville. He was an avid fisherman and did some missionary work in Mexico during his retirement. Survivors include his daughter Linda (Dennis) Schermer of Russiavlle; four sons Roger Montoya Jr. of Dallas, TX, Robert (Danielle Dubrey) Montoya of New York, NY, Richard (Betty) Montoya of Charlottesville, VA, Reuben Montoya of Charlottesville, VA; six grandchildren Derek (Heather) Schermer, Matthew (Nichole) Schermer, Gabriel Montoya, Emilia Montoya, Isabelle Montoya, Brittany Nelson; one great grandchild Eliana Grace Schermer. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sister and four brothers. The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice, with a special thanks to Cheri, Marie, Keri, along with Dr. Spoljaric and staff, for their compassionate and gentle in the care of Roger. Funeral services will be at 3 pm on Friday, May 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church at 260 W. Main St. in Russiaville with Pastors Tom Robertson and Ned Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow at Russiaville Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 3 pm on Friday at the church.
