Roger W. Taylor, 91, of Friendsville, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015, at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y, after a brief illness. His wife of 69 years, Dora Jean (Vandermark) Taylor, survives.He was born on November 26, 1923 in Scott Twp., to the late Winfred and Edith (Thomas) Taylor. Also surviving are his two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Richard "Arab" Blaisure, Montrose, Sandra and David Greenough, Brackney; sons and daughter-in-law, Roger, Jr. and Mary Beth Taylor, Castleton, Va.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Stacey (Thomas) Hanna, Bradley Greenough, Emily (Forrest) Ashcraft, Erin Taylor; two great grandchildren, Landon and Kailyn Hanna; sister-in-law, Carolyn Taylor, Forest Lake; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Glen and Emeral Taylor.Roger worked for Beech Manufacturing in Montrose, and IBM in Endicott. He sang with the Southerntiersmen Barbershop Chorus, and toured the U.S. singing with the Southerntiersmen. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to go on camping trips to Lake George, N.Y., with his family and friends.A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015, at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose, with Pastor Jeff Aiosa of the Vestal Center United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Montrose Cemetery.
