Narconis Jr., Roman Ray Joseph 70, of Edwardsville passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Ray was born on April 25, 1946 in Scranton, PA to Roman Joseph and Jean Elizabeth (Yusczyk) Narconis. He married Meg O'Neill on January 30, 1982 in Alton, IL. Surviving are his two children, Alex (Michelle) Narconis of Webster Groves, MO and Dana (Christopher) Murray of Ballwin, MO; and one sister, Christine Woroniecki of Buffalo, NY. Ray was the President and owner of Global Environmental Consultants, where he worked as an environmental microbiologist. He served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time on the beach in Florida, golfing, and especially being with his family. Ray was a great husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to all who met him. He will be dearly missed. He also leaves behind his loyal dog and best friend, Samantha. Memorial contributions may be made to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust or to the McCrone Research Institute in Chicago. Visitation: A visitation for Ray will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home and Crematory in Glen Carbon, IL. A memorial service will be held following the visitation, at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
