Humlicek, Roman P., 82, retired Postal Clerk at Wichita, passed away January 26, 2015. Roman was born on March 30, 1932 in Linwood, NE to Phil F. and Bessie (Svoboda) Humlicek. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alice, of Wichita; his children: Susan Baty (Charley) of Wichita, Donald Humlicek (Beth) of Wichita, Shirley Werth (John) of Haysville, Duane Humlicek (Denise) of Burlington, KS., Sandra Cole (Bill) of Wichita, Sharon Mahaney (Ben) of Covington, WA.; brother, Dennis Humlicek (Joyce) of Phoenix, AZ.; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. Roman was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, NARFE, Harvest House, Silver Streaks, and was a long time officer of the Midwestern Polka Club of Kansas. Roman enjoyed playing the accordion and had his own band for many years. Roman never met a stranger and you could bet you would talk about polka music if you met him! Rosary: 7 p.m. Thursday; Mass: 10 a.m. Friday, all at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2801 S. Seneca, Wichita, KS 67217. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Church.
