This obituary is administered by:
RON KRUEGER Ron Krueger, 79 years of age of North Fork, Idaho passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church of Salmon and burial followed at the Salmon Cemetery. Krueger was born on November 10, 1936 in Payette, Idaho, the son of Albert and Mabel (Mosgaard) Krueger. The family moved to Pasco, Washington where Ron grew up and graduated from high school in 1954. He was active in Boy Scouts, several fraternal organizations, was a Mason and a Shriner. Ron was united in marriage with Mary Lawrence in 1955. To this union, three boys were born: Kevin, Randy and Garrell. The family moved to the Lewiston/Clarkston area in 1957, where Ron managed a service station and later worked on a mobile home lot with his brothers. This eventually became an RV Sales lot that closed in 1980 when he joined 4 partners in opening an RV sales lot in Lewiston, Idaho. In 1975 Ron married Phyllis A. (Huff) Vail in Lewiston, Idaho. The couple opened their own RV business in 1990 in Clarkston, Washington. Ron was President of the Clarkston Chamber of Commerce in 1997, served on many committees and was instrumental in the development and setting up of the Vernon Park Christmas display. Ron enjoyed traveling and was proud to have traveled to all seven continents. He was blessed to journey to Israel, Jordan and Palestine in 2015 which was his most rewarding trip. He was known for his beautiful smile, pleasant personality and sense of humor, and will be greatly missed. Ron is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of North Fork, Idaho; sons, Kevin (Ruoqiao) Krueger of Spring, Texas, Randy (D'on) Krueger of Spokane Valley, Washington and G.W. Krueger of Spokane, Washington; daughter, Teri Keller of Moses Lake, Washington; sisters, June (Don) Hobbs of Richland, Washington and Marilyn Krueger of Kennewick, Washington; brother, Larry Krueger of Spokane, Washington; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mabel Krueger; brothers, G.W. Krueger, Kermit Krueger and Hal Krueger; sisters, Marian Krueger, Dorothy Macomb and Carol Brons. Memorials, if desired, are requested to be sent to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital, 911 W. 5th Avenue, Spokane, WA 99204 or the Franklin County Museum, Class of 1954. Marilyn Krueger, Ron's younger sister had this to say about her brother: "I want to let you know Ron was the best older brother who was ever born. We were three years apart in age, but that was never a problem once I got a little older. We were the only two in a family of 10 children that were born in Payette, Idaho and that was a badge of honor to us. (Please don't ask me why, because I have no idea.) I followed Ron around whenever I could and he never told me to "get lost." Never!! Ron was into sports as we grew up. We lived in the country when we were in Pasco and had lots of space to play sports. We played basketball, football, baseball, tag and hide-and-go-seek at home. It seemed to me that almost all of our neighbors were boys - so, I played boys' games. Our younger sister was into dolls, but that was not for me. I wanted to be with Ron. Sometimes the boys got a little rough with me, but Ron straightened them out right away. Ron was not able to be on the sport teams of Pasco High School because he had a job hat started right after school was out. He tried to help Mom with the bills because our Dad died young and left Mom with seven children to raise. I was heart-broken when Ron and his family moved to Clarkston and worked for our brother Wayne. It was a good move for Ron and his family and he lived there most of his life. I will miss my brother and his teasing for the rest of my life. He was wonderful. He was the BEST big brother ever. Peace be with you, brother. I will see you again in Heaven."
