Ronald A. Sturtz 1936—2016Ronald Allen Sturtz of Lanark Illinois passed away at his home on May 7, 2016. Ronald was born on November 20, 1936 in Freeport, IL. to parents Cloyd and Elsie Sturtz. He graduated from Lanark High School in 1954. On December 29, 1963 in Savanna, IL, Ronald married Mildred (Millie) Halsted. He was a farmer, having lived 77 years on the home farm. He was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, member of the Farm Bureau and former member of the Illinois National Guard. His interests were water skiing, snow skiing, boating, watching grandkids in sports and providing 4-wheelers for them to ride.Ronald is survived by his wife Mildred, 3 sons Eric (Janelle) Sturtz- Winnebago ,IL., Brian (Mary Jane) Sturtz-Darlington, WI.,Kyle (Shelly) Sturtz-Holmen,WI., sister-in-law Ruth (Tim) Brekke of Cary, IL., grandsons Johnathan and Jesse, granddaughter Laura of Darlington, WI., grandson Connor and step granddaughter Haillea Wagner of Holmen, WI, sisters: Betty(Randal) Carpenter-Freeport, Donagene (Ray) Breshock of Hobart, IN, 14 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Mother and Father (Cloyd and Elsie Sturtz) brother Edward (Virginia) sister- Dorothy Baker (Woodrow) brother-in-law Randal Carpenter.Funeral will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, May 14 preceded by visitation from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pastor Jerrod Severing will be conducting the service at the Lanark Methodist Church with burial to follow at Lanark City Cemetery.
