HOOVER, Ronald E. "Sparky" 71, of Springfield, passed away in his home surrounded by family on Saturday, November 12, 2016. He was born on January 14, 1945, in Lancaster, Ohio, the son of the late Fred and Sarah (Hobson) Hoover. Ronald is survived by his wife, Cindy (Haley) Hoover whom he's been with for 23 years and would've celebrated their 5-year marriage anniversary on November 17; his children, Paula (Paul) White and Rodney (Bobbi) Hoover; step-children, Jamie Kirkpatrick and Lacie Harper; grandchildren, Brandon Oty (Mandy Denton), Megan Oty (Justin Robotham), Bryana White, Haylee and Skyelinn Tarbutton, Kirsten Hays, Kaylee and Kinzie Wren, Olivia Williams and Veronica and Bradley Hoover; great-grandson, Chase Oty; sister, Barbara Cultice; nephews, Danny, Steve and Terry; nieces, Cheryl and Lori; and numerous cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his uncle, Paul (Ann) Hobson; sister, Jeannie Sowers; and brother-in-law and best friend, Jerry Cultice. Ronald was a proud veteran in the United States Army. He was a retired truck driver and an all-around outdoorsman. Ronald enjoyed working at the flea markets and will always be remembered by many as "The Gun Man". He loved fishing, hunting, archery, golf and was an avid bowler, but overall, he loved his family. He was a genuine and loving husband, a caring father and a wonderful grandpa who adored his grandkids. Ronald was very giving and always selfless with the biggest heart of gold. A memorial service in honor of Ronald will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 1p.m. at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER.
