He married his beloved wife Susan Elaine in 1982 and together they raised a chaotic but loving household with their 8 children.

Among his surviving family members are Crystal Gayle Capps and her spouse Casey Scott Wallace, Benny Grant Capps and his spouse Jennifer Hart Capps, Troy Dean Capps and his spouse Amy Francis Capps, Gene Capps and his spouse Vicki Capps, Mandy Mae Capps and her spouse Josh Alford, Delilah Warren and her spouse Brian Bozarth, Jack Warren, and Robert Capps "Bobby" and his spouse Della Capps. Ron also leaves behind 10 grandchildren.
