Sept. 22, 1943 - Oct. 16, 2016 Ronald Hideo Odama was born on September 22, 1943 in Amache, Colorado in a Japanese Internment Camp. His parents were Joseph and Kikuye Odama. Ron was the youngest of three siblings, Michi, Hitoshi, and Shigeko. He passed away on October 16, 2016 at the age of 73 surrounded by family and friends. Ronald graduated from Banning High School in Carson, California, then went to Cal State Long Beach where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. At Cal State, he was a member of the Acacia Fraternity where he made lifelong friends. He also pursued a master's degree at University of Southern California (USC). He worked for six years at Western Gear Corporation, Douglas Aircraft, and Boeing before dedicating his life to being a Waldorf teacher. Ronald was an avid fan of USC football. He loved spending time with his family, collecting gems, and loved reading and keeping up with current events. He was deeply spiritual and was a lifelong student of anthroposophy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Kikuye Odama; sister, Shigeko Murashige; and son-in-law, Anthony Kim. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; and their five wonderful children: Melissa Odama Hart, son-in-law Brent Hart; Christine Odama Kim; Charity Odama; Danika Odama, son-in-law Saan Saelee; Lawson Odama; and six beautiful grandchildren: Noah Ching, Brandon Kim, Jonathan Kim, Jasmin Kim, Elena Hart, Sam Hart. Service will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Blaine Memorial United Methodist Church, 3001 - 24th Ave S., Seattle, WA 98144.
