AMHERST –Ronald L. Willis, age 71, of Amherst and formerly of Edmond, West Virginia passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Mercy New Life Hospice. He was born on March 14, 1945 in Edmond, West Virgina to Jake and Irene Willis.He enlisted with the United States
Army on September 8, 1965 and was honorably discharged on September 7, 1967. While serving he received top honors in his unit for his expert marksmanship skills. Ronald retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of employment. He enjoyed camping, fishing and NASCAR.He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carol (nee Costello); brother, Colonel G. (Ermalea); sister, Rose Amick; sister-in-law, Jeanne (Allen) Bentley; brother-in-laws, Jerry Costello and Bob (Linda) Costello; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake Edward Willis and Iren Willis Meadows; brothers, Jake Edward Willis and Harol E. Willis; sister, Mary W. Whitney; nephew, Zachary Norman; Brothers-in-law, Arless Amick and Michael Costello; and his sister-in-law, Anna Willis. The Willis family will receive friends on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation.
