A Life Well Lived

Ronald Lee Zeman passed away April 20, 2021.

At his request, his remains will be cremated.

Ron (Ronald) was born June 1st, 1952 to Irene
Zeman and Raymond Zeman (both deceased) formerly of Hialeah, Florida.

Ron attended Florida State University (his beloved Alma Mater)
with a major in Fine Arts. His love of art led him into a career of animation
and creative endeavors. He worked for eleven years at WPBT (public television)
in Miami, Florida as an Animator and was one of the first to use and teach the
Quantel Paint Box. He then worked as a Flame Artist for Univision for 14 years.
Ron was very dedicated and consistently honed his craft by learning new
techniques and systems.

Ron then retired and moved to Costa Rica to live his dream.
He learned Spanish and continued his love of art by going back to his original
roots of drawing. He became an International Artist and his work is well known
there.

Ron’s professional accomplishments are numerous and include
winning a daytime Emmy for animation along with numerous other awards. He
ventured into Pixar, worked on The Man in the Moon with Tom Hanks, numerous
video works with J Lo. Ron was one of the lucky ones to do what he loved until
he was called home.

Ron’s greatest accomplishment was the birth of his daughter.
He cherished her and relished in her accomplishments. He is survived by his
daughter Danielle Leigh Zeman and soon to be Granddaughter.

He is also survived by his brothers Raymond Zeman and Joe
Zeman, his sister-in-law Kimberly Zeman and Cindy Zeman, niece Lillian Zeman and nephew Joey

I knew Ron from 1st Grade at North Hialeah Elementary School and am saddened to hear of his passing. Ron and I played Little League baseball together at Milander Park in Hialeah. God bless you, Dani.

Ron was a very gentle soul my husband and I met in Jaco, Costa Rica. We would have a drink with him at Liquidity at Croc’s Resort and enjoyed spending time with him for several years before he moved to Escazú. Our sincere condolences to his daughter and family.

I just heard of Ron’s passing, very sad! When we last spoke a couple of weeks ago he said he was going to move back to the states and that Danielle was going to have a baby. He was very excited about that! Ron was the only person from high school that I was still in contact with, and I will miss him!! I have a lot of good memories of him and I. One is when he got out of the service, he talked me into going to Europe and we backpacked around for month. We had a few adventures, and created a lot of memories! Another one is silly, but we still talked about it to this day. Once when we were fishing I hooked him with my lure when I went to cast, of course he made a big deal about it, and had to tell everyone the story. However, every time he brought it up I would say it was him who hooked me! I did this every single time, and over the years I don’t think anyone except him and I knew who hooked who! Rest In Peace Ron!
