DOWNHOUR, Ronald Raymond (Age 93) Ronald was born on November 1st, 1923 in Lewistown, MT to Claude F. Downhour and Verna Viola Richmond Downhour. He passed away on November 11th, 2016 in Spokane, WA. He graduated from High School in 1942 and was drafted into the Army. He was stationed in Florence, AZ and then to the Aleutian Islands until he was discharged. He then came to Spokane in 1950 and was stationed in the recruiting office. In 1953 he was stationed in Japan, working in the United Nations headquarters. After returning from Japan, was re-enlisted and stationed again in the recruiting office in Spokane. He was stationed in numerous different places including Germany, Florida, Pittsburgh, PA, working in Army Intelligence, and Korea. After he retired from the Army he settled in Spokane, WA and worked for the Old National Bank in the Mail Department for 15 years.When Ronald was going to Kinman's he met his future wife Ruth Berry and they celebrated 65 years of marriage this September 1st. They enjoyed traveling and seeing all the different sights in the U.S.Ronald belonged to a worldwide Christian fellowship, joining in 1950. He was an elder for over 25 years with meetings in the home.Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters; Alice and Jean. He is survived by his wife; Ruth, daughters; Raeleen (Bruce) Turner of Spokane, Risteen (Mark) Wineberg of Spokane, and Rozena Young of San Antonio, TX, nine grandchildren and 11 great -grandchildren.Services will be held at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, Saturday, November 19th, visitation at 11:30am, funeral service at 12:30pm, with committal following at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
