Roosevelt Washington Cooper Sr, 100, of Onley, Virginia, passed on March 20, 2021. Roosevelt was born on January 18, 1940. Retired United States Postal Service Postal Police Officer died with his family at the Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital on March 20, 2021. Mr. Cooper was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Cooper came to Onley, Va after being discharged from the Army Air Corp after WW II. He spent the remainder of his life in Onley, Va. Where he served his River Terrace community and was elected ANC Commissioner. Mr. Cooper was very active in his church The Third Baptist Church of Onley, Va where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Committee for several years. At Third Baptist he was a member of the Senior Choir, the Home missionary Ministry, the Men's Ministry, and the Executive Ministry. Survivors include: two sons, Roosevelt W Cooper Jr, and Keith B Anderson, one granddaughter Kendra Roy: three grandsons, Roosevelt W Cooper III, Kendrick B Anderson, one great grandson Roosevelt W Cooper IV, and two great granddaughters, Paige Cooper, and Lauren Cooper, and many relatives throughout the United States and Canada. Funeral will be on March 28, 2021, 10 a.m. viewing followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. at The Temple of Praise, 22171 Wharton Rd Accomac, VA 23301.
