Rosa Lee Beckham is the daughter of the late Esau and Syleena McKnight Gooden, was born in Bethune, South Carolina on June 16 1933 and departed on August 8, 2024 at her home after an extended illness. She was a member of Progressive Baptist Church, INC in Brooklyn NY. In 1955, she met and married James B. Beckham in April 1956, James B. Beckham preceded her in death. Rosa Lee Beckham was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister. She was loved and respected by her neighbors and friends. Rosa Lee leaves to cherish her loving memories: her dedicated daughters, Rosemary Watson, Sharon Y. Hines and Lenora B .Renfroe, her son James Michael Beckham whom preceded her in death, her Brother Elder Perry Gooden, and Sister-in-law Deidre Gooden , Sister in law Lynwood Jones, her granddaughter Pamela Foreman, grandson Linwood Brown Jr. and grandson Donte Watson who also preceded her in death, grandson Robert J. Renfroe, granddaughter Fallon V. Renfroe granddaughter Stephaine R. Renfroe, granddaughter Latisha Beckham, along with a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Please be advised that at 91 years of age I have moved, I received a call the other day from God. On August 8, 2024 he let me know that my mansion was finally completed, and I could move in right away. He told me to go ahead and change my address. Let me tell you that my new home is finished and what a sight to behold. It is located on an exclusive estate area behind the pearly gates and surrounded by a beautiful lake. It's beautiful. I couldn’t believe it till this moment that now I am so proudly and happily living down the street from my Father, Mother, Sisters and Brothers. I am with my husband James and my son Michael, oh did I tell you my grandkids are here, Pamela, Linwood (Jay) and Donte. Oh, Father what a heavenly and joyous day this truly is. As you know the roads are paved with gold and everyday is Sunday, just like you have been told. The trees of fruitful grace my garden here I can walk and talk with my master without any worries or cares. Please my dear loved ones there is no need to cry or be sadden any longer, for I want you to celebrate my Homegoing because for me there is no more pain, only sweet serenity. You don’t have to worry about me anymore, just like the Father had planned for me. I can go on now and about my new home but instead I am going to pray that you will get to move yourself one day. Before I go let me tell you my new address
