This obituary is administered by:
REUNITED AGAINSALEM: Rosalie (Roberts) Jennings 92, of Salem, died at 7:45 PM Saturday at Essex of Salem # 2.She was born on November 19, 1923 Iaeger, W.Va., the daughter of the late Drewey and Liddie (Robinette) Roberts.Rosalie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend to many, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.Rosalie married her husband Jay on December 13, 1941 as he was entering the Army at the beginning of World War Two. Rosalie was a very good home maker, and learned from a very early age. She set up and purchased their first home while Jay was in the service. She was such a devoted home maker that it continued her entire life. As the years past and the children came along, she was the one there to care for the needs of the home and later as they moved to a small farm. The children learned from a young age about how their parents were a team. They taught them about family values, good work ethic, caring for others who are in need. She enjoyed church and made sure the family was there as often as possible. She loved her Lord and Savior and was a great prayer warrior and knew the needs to pray about. It did not matter what she would be doing, or where she was going, everyone remembered hearing her singing the hymns. It would only be natural for her to be a good cook and a "food pusher". It was very seldom that you were not fed a nine course meal when you visited her. She had many other things she enjoyed such as gardening, bingo, sports, cards, and spending time with the family that she loved and was devoted to all her life. As their health changed, they moved to the Salem area in 2002 from Beverly, Ohio. She had attended the Salem Bible Church when health permitted. She was preceded in death on August 10, 2003 by her husband Jay Jennings, as well as two brothers Herman and Donald Roberts. She is survived by her loving children, Ben Ray(Celeste) Jennings of Zanesville, Ohio, Ronald Lee (Viola) Jennings of Salem, and Darrell Edwin (Sandra) Jennings of DeLand, Fla., sisters, Josephine Snow of N. Ft. Myers, Fla., and Greta (Charles) England of Harmony, NC., fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, and her very special friend Kathleen (Sally) Blake of Salem.A time of visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM Friday, and 11 AM to 12 noon Saturday at the Hadley Funeral Home (Reno Chapel) 1021 Pike Street, Marietta, Ohio 45750.Services will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at the funeral home with the Pastor Doug DeMar of the church officiating with burial in the Bartlett Cemetery in Bartlett. The family has asked that memorials be made to the Salem Bible Church 807 Cunningham Road., Salem, Ohio 44460.Please go and sign the guestbook at www.apgreenisenfh.com.
