Voluntown - Rose H. Antognoli, 73, beloved wife of Gerard Antognoli, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, following a lengthy illness.She was born on Aug. 14, 1943, a daughter to the late Priscilla and Joseph Holdridge of Stonington. She married her husband, Gerry, on Nov. 11, 1961; he survives her.Rose was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was hardworking and a great cook. She worked at a variety of places during her life, residing in Voluntown for the past 44 years. She retired as a special education driver for the Town of Voluntown. She was also a proud member of the Voluntown Baptist Church.Rose is survived by her son, Scott Antognoli and his girlfriend, Melissa Manley, both of Voluntown; seven brothers and sisters, Priscilla Riffle, Shirley Greene, Donna Lamphere, Jay Burdick, Joseph Holdridge, Edward Holdridge and John Holdridge; one grandson, two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She is predeceased by her son, Dean Antognoli who passed away in 1994.There will be a funeral service for Rose at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home, 490 Voluntown Road, Jewett City, with a graveside service and burial to follow within the Pachaug Cemetery in Griswold.
