A Strong, powerful loved woman, Rose Maxson Died at age 74.
Death comes to a place that every human will experience. However, life must continue where we strive to look up to those loved ones who we will always remember. Yesterday February 29, 1988, around 5:00 pm, an African American woman Rose Lee Maxson died because of a natural cause at her home in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. She was 74 years old at the time she passed away. Let me tell you about Rose. Rose was a loving caring woman who was well known in her community, helping others and standing up for her family because of the difficulties she was having with her children Cory, and Lyons, her stepson and stepdaughter, and her husband Troy. Although Rose is no longer with us her memories will always be with us through our hearts.
Rose was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on October 2, 1914. She was raised by her parents but unfortunately, it was only her mother because her dad was never in her life since he had another wife. Tragically enough she experiences the same thing with her husband Troy. Troy, we could say that he was a baseball player. When Rose was in her early 20's she married him in 1939. In 1940, Rose and Troy had their first child Cory Maxson. Rose was committed to being a housewife and she dedicated her life to Troy for almost 17 years, her children, and her stepchildren. Troy couldn't ask for a better wife because Rose was a caring woman. Rose kept her family together. Even through Troy's behavior, she still cared for him. At a sad moment for Rose to experience a tough moment when Troy left her because of another woman named Alberta who got her pregnant resulting in Rose becoming depressed. She remained in her marriage with him even though she loved and cared for him in the same way she had in the past. Her only responsibility was to be a wife. Troy and Alberta had their daughter in 1966, but Alberta died during childbirth. Rose raised the children, who she called Raynell.
Prioritizing her marriage, Rose dedicated her life to serving God, as well as helping elderly people. Sadly her husband Troy died six years after Raynell was born. From seeing this, Rose decided to continue raising Raynell since Rose saw how her mother raised her, so she decided to raise Raynell the same way she was raised by her mother. After Troy'ss death in 1965, Rose made her house an orphanage to welcome children that don't have a family. Rose passion in the end was to love children. She wanted to be the best mom. Rose set up a campaign where she donated food, clothes, and money to help her community. She also served as a counsel to other women because she taught these women how to have better relationships, hopes, and sacrifices that are interfering with their families. She shared her stories to reference how she overcame all of her experiences with her family. Because of Troy’s behavior toward her children like Cory where Cory never saw Troy as his father, it truly affected her as a mother.
Rose's life was filled with much darkness but there were incredible memories she had asked for and yet she achieved her success. Her passion for her community, her people, children, and women just like she brought her joyful moments. She is now raising up to heaven, where a woman with a beautiful soul will never be missed.
Thank you, Rose Maxson.
