Rose Mary (Bartoli) CasolariJanuary 20, 2017Rose Mary (Bartoli) Casolari, 71, of Fort Myers, formerly of Arlington and Cherry, IL, passed away on January 20, 2017 at Gulf Coast Medical Center from complications related to pneumonia. Rose was surrounded by her husband and children before her death.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru, IL.Rose was born on September 29, 1945 in Detroit, MI, to John Peter and Jean (Chambers) Bartoli and resided outside of Arlington and Cherry, IL, for much of her life. She married David Casolari on May 17, 1968 in Princeton, IL.Rose graduated from Western Illinois University before receiving two master's degrees in education from Illinois State University. Rose taught in the Illinois Valley at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Spring Valley, LaSalle Elementary School, Waltham Elementary School in Utica, Tonica High School, and LaSalle-Peru Township High School before retiring and moving to Fort Myers in 2005. She was extremely proud of the many generations of students whose lives she touched over the course of 37 years of teaching and spoke fondly of her past students after retirement. Rose was also a former volunteer EMT and past President of the Board for 10/33 Ambulance in Spring Valley, IL.Rose's greatest love and passion was for her family. She eagerly told students, sales clerks, and doctors of her children's accomplishments, her love for her husband of 48 years, and the newest joy in her life, her granddaughter.Rose is survived by her husband, David; her son, Jason (Angus Davol) Casolari of Palo Alto, CA; her daughter, Janice (Brian) Kidder of Libertyville, IL; one grandchild, Alexis Kidder; her brother-in-law, Richard (Marty) Casolari of Spring Valley, IL; her sister-in-law, Elsie Vera Nothnagel of Ohio, IL, and six nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Caroline and Joseph Bartoli.Information regarding memorial contributions can be found at the Mueller Funeral Home website ( www.muellerfh.com).
