Rose V. Walkowski July 15, 1911 - Nov. 30, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Rose V. Walkowski, 103, of South Bend, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014. She was born on July 15, 1911, in Zielona, Poland, to the late Jacob and Mary (Terleki) Rypnicki. She moved to the area in 1923 and on July 25, 1934, she married Clement Walkowski, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1988. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Streminski and Victoria Hajducki and son-in-law, John Bikowski in 2011. Rose is survived by her daughter, Judy Bikowski of South Bend; two sons, Thomas (Brenda) of South Bend and James Walkowski of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Joe, Greg, Sara (Tim) Hecklinski and Tom Walkowski, Jr.; seven great-grandchildren, Chris, Lucas and Andy Walkowski, Kyla and Dylan Bikowski and Sam and Alex Bikowski; three great-great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Paul Streminski. Mrs. Walkowski was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus B.M. Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Apostleship of Prayer, the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary and the Choir. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the funeral home, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
