FREMONT — Rosemarie Catherine Ashcroft, age 86, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at her residence. Rosemarie was born on April 17, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Nicholas and Catherine (Bachman) Bastian. She grew up and attended school in Kingston, Michigan. Rosemarie enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards, and loved being a mom and grandma. She was a member of the Fremont Moose Lodge and the Fremont American Legion. She married Edward Thomas Ashcroft in Fremont, Ohio on October 4, 1954, and he preceded her in death on April 22, 1998. Survivors include a son, Randy (Sharon) Ashcroft of Fremont, Indiana; a daughter, Teena Marie (Jack) Kincaid of Tellico Plains, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Brandon Thomas Ashcroft of Roseville, Michigan, and Jack Lee (Haley) Kincaid of Tellico Plains, Tennessee; two great-granddaughters, Alaina Ashcroft, and Annataisa Kincaid; a sister, Eva Zielinski of Old Hickory, Tennessee; and a brother, Ed (Bonnie) Bastian of Kingston, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Nayomey Kincaid; and her siblings, Catherine, Dorothy Jane, Nick, John, Joe, Mike, Frank, Bill, Henry, Elizabeth, and two infant brothers. There will be a gathering of friends and family and a luncheon from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015, at the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post 257.
