Rosemary Herrera Aguilar passed away on April 8, 2017. She was born on August 29, 1949 in Las Cruces, NM to Manuel G. Herrera and Ysidra Martinez. She retired from Las Cruces Families & Youth Inc. in 2006, and spent her remaining years with her husband of 45 years and many neices and nephews. Rosie was a very proud and faithful member of La Corporacion de Los Indigenes de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe in Tortugas, NM. Survivors include her husband Luis A. Aguilar, of Las Cruces; sisters, Manuela Bustillos (Frank Bustillos), Sheila Sanchez (Pete Sanchez), Josie Barela, and Maria Dolores Herrera, Magdalena Herrera, and Juana Herrera; many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who all held a very special place in her heart. She is preceded in death by her daughters, Jeannette Marie Herrera and Claudia Aguilar; her parents, Manuel and Ysidra, and sisters, Julia Padilla, Jesusita Herrera, and Cruzita Herrera. Throughout the years she was an Advocate to many she came in contact with, through her work with adolescent teenagers to Victims of Domestic abuse, she was admired by many. Whether she was Tia, a cousin, a sister, or a friend, she was ""Granny"" to all. Rosie's devotion to the Virgin Mary was unmeasured. She will be missed by many.Services will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Tortugas, New Mexico, Monday April 17, 2017. Her Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Funeral Mass to follow. She will be laid to rest at Tortugas Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home.
