RACINE - Rosemary Ann (nee: Madden) McNally, 91, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Becker Shoop Center. She was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on March 10, 1920, the daughter of the late, John and Agnes (nee: Devine) Madden. After graduation from St. Catherine's High School, Rosemary's working career began as a switchboard operator at Wisconsin Bell; then she worked at the J. I Case Company as a switchboard operator (PBX) and later as a receptionist and operator for Kurten Medical Group. While working fulltime and raising her family she found time to begin Rosemary's Catering. Rosemary expanded her business and opened Rosemary's grocery store and catering on Four Mile and Erie Street. On October 10, 1969, she was united in marriage to Charles V. "Mack" McNally. After their retirement they enjoyed trips to Ireland and many years of traveling, throughout the United States. She also was a member of the Women's Club, PBX Club, Bridge Club and the Black Garter Club. Rosemary enjoyed being with family, loved to entertain and especially having fun with her friends. Surviving are her children; John (Chris) Charewicz of Stevens Point, James (Teresa) Charewicz of Port Washington, William Charewicz of Pinellas Park, FL and Eileen (Steve) Williquette of Racine; stepchildren, Michael (Kris) McNally of Eugene, OR, Patrick (Susan) McNally of Eau Claire and Kathleen (David) Storm of Schofield; 9 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Rosemary was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Charewicz on November 11, 1964; second husband, Mack on January 10, 1999; brothers, Lester, Thomas, William, Robert, George, Richard and Patrick Madden; sister, Kathleen Cooper and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elizabeth (Paul) Lombardo. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1100 Erie Street, on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at church on Wednesday before services from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
