Rosemary Carolyn Hawkey 74 passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 in Yuma. She was born on October 29, 1938 in Murphy, North Carolina. Rosemary graduated from Glenna Park High School. She was a homemaker and artist, previously an airline stewardess and shoe and clothing store owner. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed art, travel, family and reading. Rosemary was Miss Congeniality of the 1958 Miss Texas contest. Rosemary is survived by her husband Dick Hawkey of 52 years; daughter, Carolyn (Stan) Hoer; sons, Robert (Christina) Hawkey, Eric (Therese) Hawkey; 12 grandchildren, Josh and Brandilyn Davidson, Trent and Taraleigh Duffey, Leshelle, Rashauna, Kaniesha and Seth Hoer, Tyler and Monica Skaggs, Breanna, Kyle , Bryce, Elle and Sienna Hawkey; 7 great-grandchildren, Mariah, Robbie, Ryan and Lucas Davidson, Taven, Cannon and Carsten Duffey. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Julia McAlister; brother, John McAlister and sister Susie McAlister. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hawkey Art Scholarship Foundation, AWC.
