Rosemary L. LinkovicHarrisburgRosemary L. Linkovic, 72, passed away quietly surrounded by loved ones early on May 23, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on May 22,1945 in Lebanon, and attended Lebanon Catholic High School, graduating, in 1963. Upon completion of high school, Rosemary became a Novitiate in the Order of Sisters of St. Francis near Philadelphia. She chose to rejoin the secular life and transferred to Lebanon Valley College to complete her Bachelor's Degree. She became a registered nurse in 1978 after attending Harrisburg Area Community College. She worked for various visiting nurse and hospice organizations before teaching nursing at Dauphin County Technical School. She retired from her final position as a Nurse Case Manager in 2006. Rosemary was an avid animal lover, and raised several champion Newfoundlands, training them as both water rescue and draft dogs. She was also active with animal rescue and advocacy groups, adopting several rescue dogs later in life. A devout Catholic, Rosemary found constant comfort in her faith throughout her life. While Rosemary had many interests, and held many jobs throughout her life, no responsibility was more important to her than the role of mother and "Meme". Her focus was never on her own well-being, but instead that of her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was hearing of her grandchildren's accomplishments and attending their sporting events, concerts and activities. Rosemary was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Lorraine Everly; and brother, Damien Joseph Everly. She is survived by son, Matthew Bowman and his wife, Madeleine Bowman of Harrisburg; daughter, Michelle Bowman Dixon and husband, Michael Dixon of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Evan and Patricia Bowman, Joseph and Gabriella Dixon; as well numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 120 East Lehman Street, Lebanon, 17046 with a viewing hour from 10-11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Rosemary L. Linkovic to Speranza Dog Rescue, 1216 Brandt Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
