Rosemary Barbara (Lambrecht) Nicholson, 85, of Sterling passed away Tuesday, December 06, 2016 in Sterling. Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 am Friday, Dec. 9 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Michael Bodzioch celebrating. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Rosemary was born on November 21, 1931 in Sterling, CO to George and Mary (Steib) Lambrecht. She graduated from Padroni High School in 1949. She married Oren Nicholson on January 14, 1956 at St. Anthony's in Sterling. They were married for 61 years. She was a homemaker and a nanny. She also volunteered at the Visitor Center in Sterling for 20 years and was a Sunday School Teacher at St. Anthony's for 18 years. She enjoyed polka dancing, card parties, puzzles, sewing, gardening, loving children, and cooking. She also loved her dog Chauncey. Some of the family's favorite recipes are chicken noodle soup, German pancakes, German sausage, and strawberry rhubarb jelly. Rosemary is survived by her husband Oren Nicholson; sons Doug and Laura Nicholson of Sterling, Ron and Tammy Nicholson of Brighton, and Randy and Brenda Nicholson of Severence; grandchildren Jarod and Lindsey Nicholson, Kory Nicholson, Ashton and Ben Sheafor, Natalie Nicholson, Hillary Nicholson, Dylan Nicholson, and Levi Nicholson; great-grandchildren Blake and Kennedy Nicholson, baby Shaefor; sister JoAnn Rizzolo and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Mary Lambrecht. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that people make a donation to the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in memory of Rosemary Nicholson in care of Tennant Funeral Home, PO Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
