Rosemary Lynn Rice, 65Anchorage, AKMelrose, MNNovember 5, 1951-June 16, 2017Rosemary Lynn Rice passed away suddenly of natural causes on Friday, June 16, 2017, at the age of 65. She was born on Nov. 5, 1951, at Menard Hospital in Seattle, Wash., to parents William Isaac and Stella Midred (Doty) Fern.Shortly after Rosie's birth, the family moved to Melrose, Minn., where she grew up on a farm. She graduated Melrose High School 1969. She attended Brainerd Junior College for two years, then went on to receive a bachelor's degree from University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1974. Rosie was one of 10 children in her family.Rosie married Robert Armstrong Rice on May 24, 1975, at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden in Minneapolis, Minn. They had the most amazing life together, recently celebrating their 42nd wedding anniversary. Together they lived in Minneapolis-St. Paul for 8 years before moving to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1983, where they enjoyed living adventures in the Last Frontier state. Rosie formed and started Alaska Medical Staff Services Business in February 1997. She quickly became the Medical Credentialing Specialist in Alaska, performing background checks on doctors and Allied Health Practitioners.Rosie was part of many organizations: AmVets Post 2 and 49, Eagles AERIE 4207, and a number of other organizations throughout the years.Rosie and Bob traveled extensively throughout North America, but held a strong affection for traveling to Mexico, which they did over 22 times. They even traveled to Tahiti Pape'ete.Rosie had a passion for making and spending time with her friends. She was well known for her personal sacrifices in helping others, creating meals for different events and making an impact in the community. She was a natural story teller who entertained groups for hours with belly laughing tales. You couldn't help but be mesmerized by her charisma as she lit up a room by walking in. She was blessed with making strong friendships everywhere. You couldn't spend time around her without feeling your life being profoundly impacted. She will be sorely missed but will live in our memories forever.A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on July 15, 2017, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4207
