The Great Lady
Rosetta Andrews, 88, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed on August 02, 2022. Rosetta was born on February 22, 1934.
"The Great Lady" Rosetta was born to Marion and Margaret Dean ( née Hurst). She was the eldest of nine children. Siblings Joyce, Eldonia, Eleanor, Samuel, Barry, Emmanuel, John and the parents preceded Rosetta in death. Her former husband, George preceded her in death in 1992.
Rosetta is survived by her youngest sister Edna and sister-in-law Teresa, dearest friends Barbara and Dolphus Williamson, as well as 12 children: Charles, Leona, George, Lamont, Margaret, Douglas, Joyce, Kaaren, Emmanuel, Pamela, Paul and Nichole.
And 25 grandchildren: Rosetta, Tynetta, Saul, Lea, Lamont Jr, LaGrand, Lowell, Lauretta, Antonio, Maywonn, Chileina, Dyrus, Andrea, Douglas, Charita, Kayla, Joi, Jentle, Jewell, Andrew, Jaylesa, Paul, J’lyn, Emmanuel, and Sabrina. Rosetta had a host of nieces, nephews, Great grandchildren, Great-Great Grandchildren and many loving friends and family.
Rosetta embraced the calling of Jesus Christ. She became a baptized member of Worldwide Church of God/Grace Communion in 1962. In 1968, she bought a home and moved her children to Battle Creek, MI from Chicago for better educational opportunities. She bought a home, sent many of her children to college, earning various degrees, travelled extensively, and she was a voracious reader who relished history. Her greatest joy (outside her children) was studying The Bible and learning as much as she could about God and Jesus Christ.
2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
In 2022, at age 88 Rosetta passed on while in Georgia visiting family. She did not suffer, but took her last breaths in Piedmont Fayette hospital surrounded by several of her children.
Rev. 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
We celebrate the life of Mother Andrews, the Great Lady, and look forward to the time when we will see her again. We know she is without pain and her next conscious thought will be with Father, Son and Holy Spirit as well a host of family, and friends.
God Be With You Dearest Rosetta, Until We See You Again.
