PRESTON - Ross Angus Talbot, 88, passed away on Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, by his home in Preston, Idaho. He was born on April 3, 1918, in Lewiston to Richard Alfred and Elizabeth Irene Griffeth Talbot. He married Dora Carter on June 4, 1944, in the Logan LDS Temple. Ross enjoyed a number of activities during his lifetime. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He drove a horse and buggy and played football at North Cache where he was an All-State player. He earned his Eagle Scout award. Ross also worked for Sego Milk and Gossner's for many years. He is survived by his wife Dora of Preston; his children Marriett Speth of West Valley City, Utah, Virginia Talbot of Preston, Ross (Barbara) Talbot Jr. of Smithfield, Jesse (Dianne) Talbot of Trenton, Valerie (Dan) Herzog of Logan, Carter (Eliza) Talbot of Logan, Steven (Jill) Talbot of West Jordan; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Clarissa Talbot of Lewiston and Maxine Talbot of Murray. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18 in the Preston South Stake Center, 55 E. 1st South, with Brother Larry Checketts conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
