With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Roy Mercer, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Roy was born on July 21, 1952, in Desert Hot Springs, California, to his parents Glover and Evelyn Mercer. He was a dedicated employee of the City of Long Beach, retiring in 1998.
Roy had a passion for casinos and enjoyed spending his free time pursuing his hobby. He was married to his loving wife, Joyce, for 38 years and together they had a daughter, Jessica, who married Joyce Gibson. Roy was also a proud grandfather to two wonderful grandchildren.
His passing on November 28, 2025, due to tuberculosis, leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Roy's legacy of love and laughter will forever be cherished by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
