Roy A. Rohde
1946 - 2014 Roy A. Rohde, 68, of Twin Lakes, Wis., died suddenly Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 29, 2014, at the Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington. Roy Allen Rohde was born on Sept. 2, 1946, in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late Elmer and Marjorie (Cornell) Rohde. Roy came to Twin Lakes as a young boy and attended local schools. On Aug. 8, 1970, in St. John's Catholic Church in Twin Lakes, Roy was united in marriage to Gail A. Yunker. Roy served in the National Guard as a Sergeant First Class of Service Battery 1st Battalion 126th Field Artillery in Kenosha. He worked as the office manager for Double Lucky Ranch in Wadsworth, Ill. Roy also worked for Yunker Industries in Lake Geneva, WI, and formerly owned and operated Possibilities Unlimited and Roy's Mobil Station in Twin Lakes. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Roy was a former member of Aquanut Water Ski Team, the Twin Lakes Village Board, the Twin Lakes Fire Department and Rescue Squad and the Twin Lakes Businessmen's Association. He was also a former Twin Lakes
Police Officer. He enjoyed cooking, especially his famous Sunday breakfast, and socializing with family and friends. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and was very proud of his family. He was an avid lottery player and always wanted to set up a foundation with his winnings to give to charity. Roy touched everyone he met and left them feeling appreciated. He firmly believed in treating people the way he wanted to be treated and lived every day to make that happen. Roy is survived by his wife, Gail; daughter, Amy (Greg) Neal of Lake Forest, Ill.; son, Bret (Rachel) of Parrish, Fla.; five grandchildren, Joseph (Taylor) Larson, Jason Mack, Justyn Mack, Jacob Rohde and Jersie Rohde; one great grandchild, Kamryn Larson; brother, James (Lyn) Rohde of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister, Lois (Herbert) Goldschmidt of Burlington, Wis., and a sister-in-law, Janet Rohde of Las Vegas, Nev. Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Elmer Rohde. The Rohde Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory in Twin Lakes. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at St. John's Catholic Church in Twin Lakes. Inurnment will be in St. John's Columbarium. Memorial remembrances may be made to the Michael E. DeBakey United Hospital Heart Institute, 6308 8th Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53143, the Twin Lakes Rescue Squad, 236 E.
