Our Beloveth Roy Smith Jr. 72 yrs young passed away in his home May 17, 2024 . Roy was born December 27, 1951 in Pershire, Mississippi the son of Roy smith Sr. and Addie Smith. Roy was a very loving and caring person spending time with family was very important to him taking walks in the park and watching the children play while feeding the ducks . Roy also liked building things he was a carpenter, chef who loved to cook , working on cars which dad taught him at a early age. A jack of all trade really. Roy's favorite tv shows was star trek favorite character was Mr. Spock with captain Kirk coming in second. his favorite music group was the temptations, favorite song was My Girl. Roy leaves not to mourn but to cherish his son Roy Blue of Japan and 2 Grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Roy also had a stepson name Adrian who he loved also of Decatur Il. Sister Linda l. Smith of Decatur, Il and Brenda Taylor of Nashville Tenn. who he loved Dearly. Roy also had two special nieces, Jacquelyn Smith and Camille Smith of Decatur Il. who were always their for him in time of need. also a special shot out to Roy's Aunt- Verma Taylor who always baked him a cake for his Birthday, Coconut Pineapple was his favorite. The family of Roy Jr would like to thank Heritage behavorial Center here in Decatur, Il for being there in his time of need. and a thank you to Walkers Funeral Home for their Services here in Decatur Il. Roy Jr. will be missed by so many who loved him so. what a beautiful smile he had, warm and inviting. Roy was preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Addie Smith, Sisters: Lottie Patoni, Dixie Smith, Brothers: Jimmy Smith , Early Smith, and Wayne Smith.

A Memorial Service will be held for Roy Jr. on June 21, 2024 around 5:30 or 6:00pm. for those who wish to attend at Gods House of Refuge address 1705 E. Wood St. Decatur, Illinois.
