Kaat, Roy WilliamRoy W. Kaat, 64, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully following a short battle with pancreatic cancer, on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born on February 25, 1952 in Sheboygan to Martin and Evelyn (Lukens) Kaat. He graduated from Oostburg High School with the class of 1970. On May 23, 1981 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Lora VanSeters in Sheboygan. Roy worked at Curt Joa for many years. He then went on to own and operate Quality Home Improvements. He was a member of the Netherland Reformed Church in Waupun.Roy loved nature and had a special place in his heart for all of God's creation. In his retirement he operated Mullet River Garlic Farm and enjoyed selling the fruits of his labor at the farmers market. You could usually find Roy on the lake fishing and if he wasn't there you might find him making his cedar strip canoes, flying his radio controlled model airplanes, or gardening. Roy is survived by his wife of 35 years Lora, his daughters, Melanie (Shawn) DeVriend and Sheila (Caleb) Winkel, grandchildren, Miles, Celene, Hannah, Eli, and Theo DeVriend, Sullivan, Winslow, and baby on the way Winkel, his sister, Marlene Wassink, mother-in-law, Celene VanSeters, brother-in-law, Rick (Karen) VanSeters, sister-in-law, Gail (Dave) Touw, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ronald and Earl Kaat, six sisters, Dorothy (Earl) Teunissen, Myrtle (Harold) Velier, Leona (Ken) Weimann, Vivian (LeRoy) Miller, Bonita (Artie) Esslinger, and Carolyn (Donald) VanStelle, his father-in-law, Jack VanSeters, brother-in-law, John Wassink, and his beloved Dalmatian, Margo.In lieu of flowers, memorial funds will be established in Roy's name.A funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Zimmer-Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd., Sheboygan, with Rev. Arnoud Vergunst officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME.The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Bettag and his staff, the staff at St. Nicholas Hospital and the staff at Sharon S.
