Rozell Winston SattlerMARION: Rozell Winston Sattler, age 84 of Marion, passed away on Tuesday December 6, 2016 at Marion General Hospital.Rozell was born on August 12, 1932 in Cedar, Michigan the son of John Lewis and Harriett (Stanton) Sattler. After graduating high school, Rozell attended Adrian College and then went on to attend the Methodist Theological School of Ohio where he received his Master's Degree of Divinity.On September 8, 1956, Rozell was united in marriage to Norma Arlene Jordan. Together they formed a union that has lasted for 60 wonderful years.Rozell served the Lord faithfully over the years, pastoring many churches and serving the needs of over 13 communities between Michigan and Ohio. After their time in the ministry, Rozell and Norma called Marion home and became involved members of the Prospect Street United Methodist Church. It was there that Rozell enjoyed singing in the choir. He also was involved with the men's ministry and will be greatly missed.Rozell had a desire to see the world. So to that end, He and Norma traveled all of the lower 48 states. They also enjoyed trips overseas to Israel and mission trips to Mexico. He also had a fondness for lighthouses and covered bridges. He had made it his goal to visit all of the covered bridges in Ohio and all of the lighthouses inland in Michigan, which he did.He loved to garden and took great pride in the vegetables grown throughout the season that he would share with his church home and friends. He liked to "tinker" and was a handyman in his own right. Sports has always been a passion of Rozell's, especially the Detroit Tigers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Another passion of Rozell was his love of genealogy and finding out about his ancestry.Those who remain to honor his memory include his wife Norma Sattler; his children: Debra Sue (Brian) Trinque, Jeannine Marie Wypasek, Douglas Scott (Joan) Sattler and Lisa Ann Sattler; grandchildren: Amos Trinque, Anastasia Wypasek, Lydia Rose Wypasek, Grace Wypasek and Joel Wypasek; siblings: John (Margaret) Sattler and Iva Dziurkiewicz; and many nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson Michael Alexander Wypasek and 5 siblings.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Prospect Street United Methodist Church, 185 South Prospect St., Marion from 10 AM to 12 Noon; Funeral services will immediately follow at 12 Noon with Pastors Therese Lehman and Joe Miller officiating; Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, due to allergies, the family kindly requests donations be made to the church's organ fund.The Snyder Funeral Homes of Marion are honored to be serving the Sattler family and condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting
